African
West African Roots
Party jollof that catches the pot, silky egusi soup ladled over pounded yam, slow-cooked oxtail that falls off the bone. Recipes carried from Lagos, Accra and beyond, cooked the way grandmothers intended.
Our Story
African, Caribbean and British fusion, cooked with the kind of love you only find in someone's kitchen.
Our Family
Gina's was built on a simple belief: food cooked with memory and love tastes different. It was born in a home kitchen in Tottenham, jollof rice on Sundays, jerk chicken for every celebration, a rum cake that never lasted past the afternoon.
When those recipes moved from family tables to 639 High Road, nothing changed. The same pots, the same timings, the same refusal to take shortcuts. The only difference is now there is a seat for you.
We cook African, Caribbean and British food the way it was meant to be eaten, together, in generous portions, with proper seasoning. No pretension. No compromise.
Three Traditions, One Kitchen
African
Party jollof that catches the pot, silky egusi soup ladled over pounded yam, slow-cooked oxtail that falls off the bone. Recipes carried from Lagos, Accra and beyond, cooked the way grandmothers intended.
Caribbean
Jerk chicken with real heat and real smoke, curried goat with tender depth, rum cake still warm from the oven. The islands on a plate, every service.
British
Sunday dinners reimagined with jerk-spiced lamb, seasonal greens with a West African twist, and puddings that honour the country that became home. Fusion done with respect, not gimmick.
Tottenham N17
639 High Road is not a restaurant that happened to open in Tottenham. It is a Tottenham restaurant, full stop. This neighbourhood, the diaspora, the families, the market traders, the repeat customers who have been coming since the beginning, is who we cook for first.
Our regulars span three generations. Parents bring children. Children bring friends. Friends become regulars. That is the cycle we are most proud of, and it is built on the same thing every time: food that feels like home, even if home is somewhere else.
What We Stand For
Recipes unchanged. Shortcuts refused.
Every guest leaves full and remembered.
Portions like family, not fine dining.
Rooted in Tottenham, open to the world.
A table is waiting. Or let us bring the feast to you.
